Just neighbors distributing water where it’s needed most after Hurricane Helene devastated our city’s waterlines 🚛💧❤️
Where are your water tanks located?
We currently have stationary distribution sites located around Buncombe County and the surrounding areas.
Our current focus is on high density housing with low-income and/or elderly residents.
These folks have a reduced capacity to travel to water distribution sites. These were already systemically undervalued communities before the storm. High density residence sites have an increased risk of disease outbreak without access to clean running water.
We can take requests for drop-off sites that are low-income, high density housing areas and communities with elderly and disabled residents. If you would like to request a site placement, please fill out our site request form. We will make additional sites available as donations allow. Filling out the request form does not guarantee placement at your site.
What type of water do you distribute?
We are supplying stationary distribution sites with both CLEAN WELL WATER and NON-POTABLE FLUSH WATER depending on the site’s needs.
Stickers on our tanks indicate the type of water and it’s uses. All of our water can be used for flushing toilets.
We use our CLEAN WELL WATER tanks for bathing, showering, dishes, cleaning, and drinking.
All well water in Buncombe County is under a boil water advisory. Filtration for drinking is recommended.
How do I get a tank refilled?
Each of our sites has refill number. Text “REFILL [SITE NO.]” to the number on the tank to request a refill. We will do our best to fill your tank in a timely manner based on our capacity allows.
Can I volunteer?
We have limited capacity to onboard new volunteers, but our volunteer list is open if you wish to join the list. Our biggest need is for drivers with trucks. Fill out this volunteer form to join the list.
Do you flush toilets?
We do not currently enlist volunteers to help flush toilets. You can plug in with @belovedasheville to volunteer to flush toilets.
We encourage you to check on your neighbors and ask if they need help flushing their toilets! Many folks are unable to lift the amount of water required to flush. Lend a hand and help them out!
How can I help?
The most impactful way you can support us is to donate! Donations are NOT tax-deductible as this is a direct action grassroots effort.
Current donations go to purchase 275 gallon IBCs and other items that support our operations including pumps, well testing kits, lumber for constructing tank stands, trailers, and vehicles.
